Sunday Happenings

Today is Sunday, January 31, 2010 and we got up this morning at 7:00 ish and got ready for breakfast. At breakfast we saw the Bennetts(adopting a 6 yro girl), met the Peacocks(adopting a 12 yro girl), saw the Curtis's(adopting 17mth old girl),saw the Poma family(adopting a 6 yro girl-I believe) and we met another family that their last name has escaped me but they adopted a 17 mth old also. So it was great to know that there are others in the hotel and we all are in the same boat..some are us are in the front and some in the rear. We will all eventually get to the final destination....HOME with our new family members!!!! We ate here at the hotel and it is pretty good. I have noticed that they do eat some odd things here for breakfast. Such as food we would eat for lunch or supper. There was watermelon juice, apple juice(it had a very strong apple taste) and then orange juice that tasted a lot like Tang. After breakfast we went back to the room--did some emailing and got paperwork ready for tonight. At 5:00 we had to be in Rebecca's room for her to go over everything that will happen tomorrow and what we need to bring with us for the appointment. At 6:00 our group went to eat at The Lemon House it was vietnamese cruisine. The food was really good and the blue package on the table in the picture is how the napkins come. Each person is handed a package of them to use, they are only as big as a kleenex and as thin as them also. Chris had Braised Spicy Pork Ribs and I had the Crusted Chili and Lemongrass chicken. We also had the fried spring rolls and we did try some pickled rice noodles. (It was good but the rice noodle texture was odd) There is a picture also of our group, that is only part of us there were 2 more tables and we could not get everyone in the same picture.

The building in the picture is the one that Starbucks is in and we thought it was odd that it was lighted green and Starbucks colors are green.

Tomorrow our life will change forever!!!! We are excited and very nervous. We know that God has watched over us till now and he will not leave us at this point of our journey.

We're Here!

Today is Thursday, no it is Friday...No Today is Saturday. Actually by our internal clock it is Saturday morning at 7:15am, but it is Saturday night at 9:15pm. We slept pretty good last night considering we are in a different place, different pillows, and definetly different smells. We have always heard that the beds are hard in China, well they are!!!(LOL) We got up around 10:30ish. We got up and got everything ready for the next 2 weeks. We got gifts together, got suitcases straightened and separated. Then we went down stairs to walk in the garden that is attached to the hotel when we saw Brett Crawford with their new little one, Lily. First though the garden is beautiful!!! It has 2 huge waterfalls, lots and lots of fish in the water areas, a small bridge and a couple of areas to sit and rest. Next we of course asked Brett questions and wanted to know how things are going---he said great and that Lily was adjusting to them. We also ventured out a little to Pizza Hut (Rebecca said it would be ok) for supper where we had a eyeopener--one of the Pizza's there had shrimp and cheese stuffed in the crust. Well, actually it was in little open pockets inside the crust. So that is different than back home. We then to the 7/11 for water. A couple of the pictures are from our hotel window looking out.

Tomorrow afternoon is our first meeting with Rebecca at 5:00 to look over paperwork!!!

Busy, Busy, Busy!!!!!

Today was very busy. We got finished the stuff in the house that I think had to be done (lol) and got everything moved to the front of the house. My wonderful mom took me for a pedicure this afternoon and it was GREAT. We are posting this from the hotel room and we are eating pizza in the Huntsville Airport. Thanks to e
everyone for all the encouraging emails--it has been very emotional for me today!!!!

Traveling......

Wow, We can not believe that the time is finally here!!! It has been 19 months for the whole process of adopting and we have seen God's hand in all that has happened. We will be leaving soon and are praying God's hand and guidance once again thru all the traveling and changes that are upcoming. We want to say thanks to everyone for all the prayers, gifts, advice, and all the help with getting ready to go. We are totally new to the blogging thing so we will see how this goes!!!!
